Amino acids & cofactors
DAO (Diamine Oxidase), a key ingredient that sets us apart
Origin: Enzymatic.
The enzyme Diamine Oxidase (DAO) works by breaking down histamine. This ingredient is unique because alcohol increases histamine levels in the body by blocking the DAO enzyme in the gut, which is responsible for breaking it down, and by releasing more histamine. This leads to a buildup that causes intolerance symptoms (the infamous "hangover") such as headaches, migraines, facial flushing, nasal congestion, and digestive problems. This enzyme acts as an essential metabolic barrier, accelerating the processing of exogenous histamine for elimination through urine. This component is patented and extremely expensive (1 kg = over €16,000), and requires the capsules to be gastro-resistant so that it is released in the intestine (another aspect that significantly increases the product's cost).
NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine)
Origin: Derived from the amino acid L-cysteine.
N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is a stable derivative of the amino acid L-cysteine. In the body, it is a source of sulfhydryl (-SH) groups, which allows it to act as a potent antioxidant. Furthermore, N-acetylcysteine increases glutathione levels in the body.
L-Theanine (tea extract 40%)
Origin: Natural amino acid present in green tea.
L-theanine, an amino acid present in tea, is primarily involved in brain metabolic processes by crossing the blood-brain barrier. It increases neurotransmitters such as GABA, dopamine, and serotonin.
Coenzyme Q10
Origin: Fermentation or bioidentical synthesis.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential naturally produced molecule that plays critical metabolic roles in the generation of cellular energy (ATP) through the electron transport chain in the mitochondria.
Hill bitartrate
Origin: Synthesis.
Choline contributes to normal lipid metabolism and normal liver function. It also participates in homocysteine metabolism. It is an essential nutrient for proper liver function.
